This is my first post on here and I appreciate everyone’s support!
I recently finished an incredible book called ‘Into The Wild’ by Jon Krakauer. It is a true story about a young man in his 20’s who gave away all of his savings, burnt his cash, abandoned his car and went travelling around America. He performed small jobs to earn some cash to get food but mainly relied on the ground and the goodness of others. In 1992 he went into the woods of Alaska and a few months later his body was found by local hunters.
Christopher McCandless was a man searching for what appeared to be freedom. Freedom from cuty life and freedom to live off the land. I hope that he was at least happy when he passed. He was successful in life, he escpaed from the norm and became something different which is what I really enjoyed.
Chris McCandless story speaks to those of us who love to travel. escape reality and thrive off ones own company.
Krakauer has done an excellent job of detailing as much of McCandless story as is known. The book left me feeling as though I had lost a part of myself with McCandless as well as find something inside me.
I highly recommend this book. Click here if you want to read it.
